How a Stretch Mark Cream Prevents Stria & Gets Rid of Scars Within The Skin Dermis

Stretch mark problems result when the skins collagen and elastin fibers are literally stretched to the breaking point and are caused when the skin is called upon to stretch while the hormones are out of balance, ex: Pregnancy, Puberty, Body builders using steroids or steroid type hormones released from their adrenal cortex during stressful periods on the body. 

These hormonal imbalances (in men as well) cause the hair follicle to tighten allowing hardened sebum to build up closing the pore. This causes hair loss, acne and prevents the healing of scaring of all types, including stretch marks.

The Structure of Your Skin
The drawing below shows a cross section of your skin. Your skin is made up of three layers, the epidermis, dermis, and the subcutaneous tissue. 

The Epidermis
The outside layer is known as the stratum corneum (V) (the horny layer). The horny layer is the tough, waterproof cover made up of dead cells, which are continuously shed as new cells come up from below. This is the layer that most skin care products affect, improving the look of the skin by temporarily plumping the dead skin cells. This distributes light more evenly, creating the appearance of smoother, more radiant skin, but in order to actually improve the condition of the skin, you would need a substance that would be able to penetrate this outer layer of skin.

In fact, only three skin care substances are found to have molecules small enough to penetrate this tough layer, tretinoin (Retin-A, abundantly and naturally contained in Rose Hip Oil), alpha hydroxy acids, and enzymes such as those in the snail's secretions. The build up of dead skin cells on the outer layer can lead to dull skin and clogged pores.

BIOSKINCARE CREAM helps dissolve the bonds between keratinocytes (dead skin cells), allowing them to slough off and reveal fresher skin underneath. Exfoliation can help remove the dull skin, but only if the skin has been sufficiently loosened.

Moisturizers also target this layer, working to trap, or, in some cases, capture moisture to keep the keratinocytes plump and smooth. The prick-cell (squamous cell) layer is the middle layer of the epidermis. This layer contains maturing cells (squamous cells) which are heading up toward the horny layer. The basal layer births the new skin cells that will eventually mature into squamous cells. This layer contains melanocytes, the cells that give pigment to your skin, known as Melanin. Exposure to sunlight cause the melanocytes to produce more melanin in an attempt to protect the dermis below. This is what gives your skin a tanned appearance after sun exposure. Sunless Tanners do not affect the melanocytes, but use an ingredient called dihydroxyacetone (DHA) to stain the skin a reddish-brown color to simulate a tan. 

The Dermis
Beneath the epidermis lies the skin's second major layer, the dermis. This layer is responsible for the skin's elasticity, shape, and strength. Elastin in the dermis enables the skin to snap back easily, and Collagen gives skin its strength, in order to keep it from stretching or sagging too much. Both fibers are extremely vulnerable to the sun's ultra-violet rays, which destroy them. Skin care products that contain collagen and elastin cannot restore these fibers because their molecules are too large to pass through the skin's horny layer. Your body does create more collagen and elastin to repair the dermis, but you must protect your skin from more damage for these repairs to be successful. The best skin care you can have, is skin care that helps prevent damage to the elastin and collagen fibers - sunblock with an SPF of 15 or higher. 

The Subcutis
The subcutis, or fatty layer cushions the internal organs and contains a layer of fat to provide insulation. This is also where most of your hair follicles and sweat glands originate.

Massage routine: When using this stretch mark cream, at night, two or three times a week (not more), you can also take a relaxing bath and apply a strong massage with a wooden massager and a body scrub to exfoliate dead cells. Exfoliation can help remove the dull skin and the dead cells in the scars that show as stretch marks, but only if the skin has been sufficiently loosened by the bath. Apply the body scrub and some moisturizer of your choice (any Aloe Vera Gel or Lubriderm Cream) on the area to be massaged with the wooden massager.
